Job Summary:
Broomsedge Rod & Gun is seeking a dedicated and experienced Kennel Manager / Hunting Guide to manage our kennels, care for our hunting dogs, and guide our clients on exceptional upland and waterfowl hunts. The ideal candidate is passionate about dog training, experienced in hunting operations, and possesses strong leadership and customer service skills. This dual-role position offers the opportunity to be a key part of a South Georgia hunting lodge.
Key Responsibilities:
Kennel Management:
• Oversee the daily care, health, and well-being of all hunting dogs in the kennel.
• Manage feeding schedules, exercise routines, and grooming.
• Monitor and maintain kennel cleanliness and hygiene to the highest standards.
• Administer basic medical care, including vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and minor treatments.
• Coordinate veterinary visits and maintain accurate health and training records for all dogs.
• Train and condition dogs for hunting, emphasizing obedience, pointing, retrieving, and scent work.
• Assist with puppy care as needed.
• Manage kennel inventory and supplies, ensuring all necessary items are stocked.
• Assist in the oversight and execution of all bird pen related endeavors (including, but not limited to, filling feeders and water holding devices, cleaning the pens, and keeping records).
Hunting Guide Responsibilities:
• Lead guided upland and waterfowl hunts for guests, providing an outstanding field experience.
• Work closely with clients to tailor hunts to their skill levels and preferences.
• Handle and showcase well-trained dogs during hunts, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Scout and prepare hunting grounds, managing habitat and setting up blinds or other setups.
• Maintain hunting equipment and vehicles in top working condition.
• Provide clients with expert advice on hunting techniques, firearm safety, and game bird behavior. The responsibilities listed are not intended to represent the full scope of work for this position. There is an implied expectation for this position to assist in various other aspects of the operation, as needed.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in kennel management and dog training, particularly with hunting breeds.\
• Extensive knowledge and experience in upland and/or waterfowl hunting.
• Strong understanding of hunting ethics, conservation practices, and game regulations.
• Ability to work independently and lead a small team when necessary.
• Exceptional communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
• Physical fitness and stamina, able to work in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate off-road vehicles.
• First Aid/CPR certification is preferred.
• Ability to pass a standard background check.

Farm and Habitat Manager Wanted - ILLINOIS
The Farm and Habitat Manager will be an integral member of the McGraw Outdoor Recreation and Habitat team. The primary job responsibilities center around applying best farm and habitat practices to prepare and maintain the property. Principle Responsibilities & Position Purpose
Manage the critical component of linking member satisfaction to the high-quality McGraw hunting experience. This will primarily be achieved through responsible land stewardship and application of industry best practices.
Oversee the execution of land management plans, personnel, and contractors while working with the leadership team to envision the future landscape of McGraw.
Demonstrate a high level of leadership setting tangible and achievable goals.
Inspire and empower a team to exceed their potential, while fostering an environment of trust and innovation that strives to exceed industry standards.
Manager’s responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:
Planting, maintenance, and optimal manipulation of annual food and hunting cover plots as prescribed for doves, upland birds, waterfowl, deer, and other wildlife.
Weed and invasive plant control through chemical applications as defined by state and national chemical applicator laws and best management guidelines for natural areas.
Establish and or manage perennial warm season grasses, cool season forage, clovers, and prairie acreage to achieve desired habitats. •Harvest remaining agricultural crops, as a secondary emphasis to the goal of wildlife food and cover.
Non-crop and woodland management
Control of large- and small-scale brush and native woody plants.
Directly oversee and implement controlled burns and care for a wide variety of plant materials.
Protect and promote biodiversity within McGraw’s unique endemic ecotypes (fens, wetlands, savannas).
Supervises and develops the skills of team members
Create daily work schedules and set priorities for team members assigned to work in the farming program.
Oversee effectiveness and quality of work within the farm program.
Complete written semi-annual performance reviews.
Recommend compensation changes for direct reports that are assigned to the farming program.
Train team members in proper use of equipment and farming applications. Ensure proper personal protective equipment is provided to, and used by, team members as the job warrants.
Create the farming and land management budget and maintain budget control.
Maintenance
Responsible for all General Farm building interiors and exteriors, as well as surrounding landscape.
Maintenance and repair of all farming and land management equipment.
Member Services/ Guiding
Learn, understand, and execute all McGraw procedures and safety for hunting parties, clay target shooting and fishing parties. •Learn, understand, and execute the Range Master duties for the clay target center and archery ranges.
Provide excellent customer service and exceed members’ expectations.
Capable of and willing to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed.
Willing and capable of working in other departments if needed and assisting the outdoor education team.

Elk Hunting Guide - Wyoming

What You’ll Do as a Hunt Guide
We’re thrilled to welcome a full-time Hunt Guide into our Wheaton Creek Ranch community!
As a very experienced Hunt Guide, you will be responsible for leading clients on hunts for big Western game, including elk, mule deer, and turkey during our hunting seasons, running September through January. Beyond your excellent hunting and harvesting skills, you will also provide exceptional customer experience, acting as an educator and ensuring each client leaves a better hunter - regardless of the outcome of the hunt. In this role, you’ll also be asked to support other guides and other aspects of the ranch, including assisting with meal prep and guest services. During the off-season, we’ll put your other skills to use on a variety of other projects as a builder and/or ranch hand, depending on your skills and interests.
As a full-time employee, you’ll be provided with quality year-round housing and meals during hunts you are guiding for or assisting with. During your time off we hope you’ll also take full advantage of the 37,000 acres of wilderness here for your enjoyment including mountain biking, hiking, camping, etc.
Hunting Guide: Key Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Hunting Guide Services: Create fulfilling experiences in leading hunt adventures, providing guidance, instruction, and support to guests, while prioritizing safety, ethical hunting practices, and adherence to regulations.
Guest Services: Provide exceptional customer service to guests, ensuring their comfort, safety, and satisfaction throughout their stay at the ranch.

Pasture and Range Management: Monitor and manage pasture and rangeland resources, including rotational grazing, weed control, and water distribution, to optimize forage production and maintain ecosystem health.
Water Management: Manage water sources, such as stream restoration, wells, ponds, and irrigation systems, to ensure adequate supply for livestock, wildlife, and vegetation, as well as for guest amenities and recreational activities.
Who You Are
You’re an experienced hunt guide, ideally with five+ years of experience guiding elk, mule deer, and turkey. You have extensive knowledge of western big game, including elk, mule, deer, bear, and turkey, including using game calls. You have extensive experience in harvesting animals.
You’re an outdoor educator and enthusiast. You ensure each client leaves a better, more informed hunter - regardless of the outcome of the hunt.
You have experience with archery hunting, muzzleloaders, and modern firearms equipment. You practice the safe handling of firearms.
You’re able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
You’re excited to live on the ranch as a positive and cooperative member of our Wheaton Creek Ranch community. You conduct yourself professionally with clients and our ranch community.

Caney Creek Whitetails in Sedan, KS is looking for a seasonal employee or intern to work through to the end of our deer hunting season, approximately Dec. 22, 2024. We are a privately owned hunting operation offering free range whitetail hunts on nearly 30K acres as well as high fence hunting for whitetails and rocky mountain elk. With the experience and willingness of both parties involved, this position could become full-time if desired.
Work requirements would include preparing for and guiding the free range deer hunts as well as the hunts in the high fence preserve; cleaning and processing game animals taken by the hunters, doing projects around the lodge as well as maintaining vehicles and equipment. This position, however, requires more than just hunting. We are looking for a Jack of all trades, someone who isn't afraid to jump in and help out no matter what the job is, whether it's capping/butchering, camp chores/cleaning, vehicle repairs/maintenance, or whatever else needs to be handled. Midway, Alabama Private Quail Plantation
As a hunting dog trainer, you’ll work in close contact with dogs used for quail hunting. You will work on a private hunting plantation in southeastern Alabama. Starting salary is $38,000 to $40,000 a year along with $500 a month health care allowance and housing, truck provided…the salary is negotiable depending on age and experience.
We use Short Haired Pointers. They are known for their stamina and intelligence. The kennel typically has 20 plus dogs. You’ll typically spend significant time in the field working with the experienced Plantation Manager to closely simulate a live hunting environment.
You use private land, and you should be comfortable riding a horse and spending extensive time outdoors. You’ll need to possess great patience, fitness, mental stamina, and a sincere love of dogs. You’ll develop a multitude of hunting skills in the dogs you train. There include searching for game using scent, pointing, and retrieving game. You’ll also work on general aspects of dog training, such as walking on and off leash, obeying voice commands, staying when told and overall cooperativeness. You may employ your own methods of training, and you will gain a lot of experience and expertise.

Ringneck Ranch, Inc. in Tipton, KS is looking for one more support staff to join our staff for the coming pheasant season. Ringneck Ranch, Inc. is one of the nation’s largest and top-rated pheasant hunting destination lodges. The Support Staff position is the backbone of our hunting operations.
This job includes many roles, including but not limited to Releasing birds, Cleaning birds, assisting guides, and clay range and kennel upkeep. This is a great entry-level position for someone who wants to be a guide but does not have a full string of dogs yet or experience. The right individual could work toward a guide position.
- This position has a start date available immediately.
- Must have a drivers license - Must be able to lift 50+ LBS.
- Must have a good work ethic and be able to work in all weather conditions.

North Idaho Elk Guide Position - IDAHO - September 2024

Looking for a guide to add to our small operation, We are picky who we hire, but are like a family here at camp. We are looking for good ethics and reliable guides. Looking for someone with least one season of elk hunting, archery/bulging would be a plus.
This position would be for every fall —>Sept/Oct/Nov Guiding Archery Elk, Rifle Elk & Whitetails.
Paid training, all food,lodging are provided, plus gas while here. Ideally like to train for couple weeks & start Guiding Oct.10th
Basic mechanics is needed & Need to be in good shape to get around. In and out of service.

FALL HUNTING GUIDE APPRENTICE - KANSAS

Hunting guide apprentice position available. This position is open for immediate start. Housing/ vehicle/most meals are provided.
Position requirements:
A little hunting area prep, maintaining lodge, equipment, taking hunters to and from hunting areas. tracking/Recovering downed animals, caping and skinning of said animals. Must be comfortable hauling and operating equipment such as tractors and skid steers. Some days are long hours some aren't.
Position can start immediately and will end Dec 14th.
HUNTING CAMP COOK NEEDED - COLORADO

We are located near Vail, CO and guide elk/deer hunts. The camp is remote but comprised of multiple cabins. The kitchen includes refrigerators, a stove, a sink with a water heater, microwave, and a smoker. There is no running water, but we haul it over in a large water tank.
Camp Cook prepares breakfast, a packed lunch (sandwiches), appetizers, and dinner. Cook is responsible for cooking, keeping camp clean, and anywhere else that is needed. They will also help with meal planning and grocery shopping. The days will be long, but you will be surrounded by beautiful scenery and you will meet some great people.
Dates are Nov 11- 17 and Nov 22-28. There will be 6-8 hunters and 5 guides for each season.
HUNTING CAMP COOK NEEDED - COLORADO

Guide & Outfitter for Mountain Lion in Western Slopes of Colorado needing help.
This position is diverse, and duties vary from crazy work hours, driving and maintaining ATV equipment, cutting lion track, guiding hunters, care and maintenance of hounds, packing game, lots of walking in cold winter conditions of Colorado. Room and board are included. Position time-line is late fall through January.
Potential candidates must be a self-starter, hard working, safety minded individual with a current First Aid card. Knowledge and experience in guiding hunters is a plus. Must have a valid driver’s license. Background check is required.
